Steve Wille and Kelly Anderson of Ironwood Custom Builders combine for almost 60 years of residential construction experience; both being recognized as leaders in the industry.

Steve Wille, president of Ironwood Custom Builders, started in the construction industry in 1976 in New Jersey before moving to Utah in 1977. Steve continued to work construction in Utah before starting Supreme Drywall in 1995. Since then Steve has been recognized as one of the top drywall contractors in the state receiving honors in the Parade of Homes for “Best Drywall” and then “Subcontractor of the Year” by the nation’s largest production home builder. Steve also takes the time to give back to the community, as a contributor to the Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build Projects.

Kelly Anderson, general manager of Ironwood Custom Builders, began working as a carpenter building cabinets and furniture when he was 14. After earning a degree in building construction he started working as a framing contractor and began building homes two years later. Kelly has been an award winning Parade of Homes builder ever since, winning numerous awards for his entries in the Parade of Homes including “Best Paint” ,”Best Tile”, “Best Landscape”, “Best Finish Carpentry”, “Best Pool”, “Outstanding Master Suite”, “Outstanding Curb Appeal”, and “Best of Show”.

Kelly is heavily involved with the Salt Lake Home Builder’s Association serving as a board member from 2002-2008, an executive committee member from 2008-2010, and as the association’s 2010-2011 president. As past-president of the Salt Lake Home Builder’s Association, he now serves as an ex-officio, lifetime member of the association’s board of directors.

Kelly is also an active contributor to the Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build projects, having built and donated, in their entirety, four homes from 2005 to 2009; each built in less than 96 hours.

In addition to receiving dozens of awards for his Parade homes, he was the 2006 recipient of the “Golden Hammer” award for dedication and commitment to the home building industry, the 2008 “Spence Greer Volunteer of the Year” award by Habitat for Humanity and the 2009 “President’s Award” by the Salt Lake Home Builders Association for outstanding service to both the home building industry and community at large.

In 2012 Kelly was appointed by the director of the Utah Department of Professional Licensing to serve on the Architectural Codes Council for the State of Utah. The responsibility of the codes council is to annually review the building codes and then make recommendations to the legislature on amendments, additions, and deletions to the building code for the State of Utah.

In 2012 Kelly was named “Home Builder of the Year” by the Salt Lake Home Builders Association and also named by Professional Remodeler Magazine as one of the “Top Forty Under 40” best contractors in the country for 2012.

In 2013 and 2014 Ironwood was named as 1 of 2 “Market Leaders” for the Salt Lake City market by Professional Remodeler magazine and in 2014 made Professional Remodeler magazine’s list of “America’s Top Remodlers”.

In 2023, Kelly was elected to serve on the board of directors for the Utah Home Builder’s Association.
