The EPA guarantees that Energy Star rated homes are a minimum of 30% more energy efficient than what the building code requires. What does this mean for our customers? Aside from building homes that are energy efficient, Ironwood is also committed to Green Building standards. What does "Green" mean? Green Building techniques are based on taking the environment into consideration during every step of the building process. From house placement on the lot, window size, type, and placement, low VOC finishes, to energy efficient light fixtures and water efficient plumbing fixtures. To the owner of a home built to Green standards you will enjoy a more comfortable home. If you are sensitive to the environment or have allergies, the air in a Green built home is cleaner due to the use of air cleaners and humidifiers and the use of Low VOC carpets, paints, and lacquers.
